Safeguard Your Vision for the Future

We believe the key to protecting your vision lies in understanding your overall health and wellness. Through our comprehensive eye exams, our optometrists combine our diagnostic technology, such as retinal imaging and anterior segment photography, with conversations to get the whole picture.

For patients interested in more extensive scans, we offer the iWellness Package. This package includes optos retinal imaging and iVue OCT scanning for high-resolution images of key eye structures, without the need for traditional dilation.

We understand that life is busy and your time is valuable. We’ll get you seen as soon as possible. We offer same-day eye exams, and walk-ins are welcome. Additionally, our glasses can be crafted in our in-house lab, which means you can receive your new eyewear quickly.

How Often Do You Need an Eye Exam?

We recommend that adults aged 18–64 have an eye exam every year, and that seniors aged 65 and older schedule theirs annually, too. Children should also have annual eye exams, as their fast growth can impact vision changes. However, we may recommend a schedule tailored to your needs after your first visit.

Regularly scheduled eye exams can be a great way to protect your vision for the future. Many eye diseases develop without noticeable symptoms, so regular eye exams are crucial for early detection. Additionally, eye conditions such as digital eye strain or dry eye can cause daily discomfort, but we can help you find relief.

What to Expect in Your Eye Exam

During your eye exam, we will perform a number of tests to check your eye health, visual acuity, and eye function. This includes taking pictures and scans of your retina, checking your eye pressure, and measuring the sharpness of your vision. We will update your prescription if needed and assist you in finding your next pair of glasses or book a contact lens fitting.

For some patients, we may recommend dilation. This involves special eye drops that dilate your pupils, allowing the optometrist to get a clearer view of the inside of your eye.

You may find your eyes are more sensitive to light for a few hours after dilation. We recommend bringing sunglasses and a designated driver after your exam if dilation is necessary.

Comprehensive Eye Exams, More than a Prescription

Our comprehensive eye exams go deeper than updating your glasses prescription. While we do test visual acuity (sharpness of your vision) and check for refractive errors that indicate a need for glasses or contact lenses, we also focus on your overall eye health.

Included in your comprehensive eye exam, we test:

  • Your peripheral (side) vision with a visual field analyzer
  • Your eye muscles to identify any weak eye movements
  • The pressure inside your eye to check for glaucoma
  • Your external eye to check the health of your cornea, iris, lens, and the skin around your eyes
  • The back of your eye, including your retina and blood vessels

Through a comprehensive eye exam, we check for signs or symptoms of eye disease and monitor changes to your vision or eyes. These exams help keep your eyes healthy for years to come by detecting issues early and preventing lasting impacts.
